Oh, but this is a good morning!
My coffee is steaming hot
A fragrant rose someone sweet gave to me
reminds me I'm loved a lot

I sit with my thoughts of life and dreams
wondering what today will unfold
~of friends whom I cherish, who stand by me
with loyalty and devotion untold

The snow falls today but I bask in this warmth
and I know Spring will soon come along
with azaleas, crocuses and daffodils
and little birds bursting with song

I finish my coffee and prepare for my day
~wash my face and straighten my hair
I reach for a vase, and with a smile on my face
I place my little rose there
