She folds her hands and lowers her head
She can feel His presence there
She knows He's the One who can get her through
- she believes in the power or prayer.
Her husband is gone, most of her friends too
She' s alone but never feels sad
Her second home is her beloved Church
It's gotten her through times good and bad.
The face is well lined, weatherbeaten with age
but her life has been one well-lived
Generous to a fault and with compassionate soul
she takes delight in being able to give
There are days when her body screams with pain
but she determinedly keeps pushing on
She knows in her heart when God calls her home
that all of the pain will be gone.
She gets into bed, her mind at rest
She's given the Lord her cares
She'll awake in the morning to give thanks for the day
then she'll slowly go down the stairs
She walks with a limp, in so much pain
but she'll try not to be so aware
She's given her life to Jesus Christ
and she believes in the Power Of Prayer.
