A Parent's Loss

Little blue-eyed toddler, laughing at play
Serene in his own yard
Enjoying this day
His brother and sisters play nearby -thinking they're safe, never wondering why the next few minutes would signal disaster -although they are safe under the eyes of their Master
Who can say why God would allow this tragedy no one can understand now- Was David's name already chosen for those He would claim to sit at His throne with body unmaimed?

His siblings walk away to play elsewhere Maybe God's presence really was there -since death claimed only one that day but the youngest son couldn't get out of the way
The hurtling jeep was moving too fast a driverless machine that in only one blast would snuff out the life of this precious boy who brought the family so much joy
No medicine strong enough to revive this bruised, battered body, no longer alive

He dwells with the Angels, but the family mourns -no longer suffering his soul has gone to Heaven where pain is to be no more and God welcomed him through His golden door
We try to make sense of this horrible day but anger and frustration still get in the way We try and try to come up with a reason but death knows no time, no place, no season
This little toddler rests now within God's arms
He'll never know pain, never know harm Sleep peacefully, little one Your suffering has ceased In God's loving arms there's now blissful peace.
