WELCOME TO KACEY'S CORNER--Thank you for coming!
 My Sis And Me
I remember when she did my hair with pretty, shiny bows I remember her generosity when she loaned me her best clothes.
Her voice was never raised to me Her patience, never ending She never once resented all the time with me she was spending.
She protected me from bullies and from other fears in school No one dared to touch me They knew my sis had rules!
When Mama died and I was twelve She vowed to always be there She shared my heartache and loneliness but she took me in her care
Her high school days I came to dread
For now, she was drifting away Her friends were more important now ~She no longer joined me in play.
Growing up and "filling out", she knew her looks were stunning She'd capture all the boy's hearts With ways beguiling and cunning
She married young and left again ~a kid deep in despair I spent my days just wishing that my big sis could be there

She had a daughter at seventeen a precious blue-eyed child she needed me now with her daily chores and my imagination just went wild
I imagined that I was a princess and this, my little girl When she was two, I'd comb her hair in shiny, pretty curls
Again, my sis took me "under her wing" and let me share her joy The joy was ours at least ten-fold when she had her baby boy
I was married in the little Church where she was married, because
I wanted to be the stunning bride ~Just like my sister was
Our families were our pride and joy ~we shared the good and bad
I wanted to have a girl and boy just like my sister had
God gave me girls, angels all to brighten up my days
The coming years were spent with them
and time passed in a haze
Years hurried by and we grew older
Our childhood a memory
but we see each other often
~Share a tear and a laugh over tea
She was my rock and now she's sick
but I won't let her down
I'll play her favorite music
and I'll kiss away her frowns
Her pain will lessen and she'll be fine
I'll bring back those dimpled smiles because I remember well her love When I was just a child
